Welcome Foolish Mortals
There’s something so special about pulling off a themed family costume. Whether it's spooky, silly, or sweet, coordinating outfits add a little extra magic to the holiday season — and they make for the cutest photos you'll treasure for years. But between busy schedules and high expectations, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed before you even begin.
Here’s my simple, stress-free approach to planning a themed family costume shoot that’s fun, not frustrating:
Pick Your Theme
It all starts with a good theme! Instead of picking a cute costume and trying to fit everyone into it, start with a theme you truly love. When your heart is in it, the rest tends to fall into place more easily.
Source Your Fit
Yep, you guessed it… Amazon. It’s fast, affordable, and convenient—so it’s always my first stop. Just don’t wait until the last minute! Give yourself time to make sure every piece fits just right.
Find Your Location
The background matters! A neighborhood street or open field might be perfect for spooky Halloween vibes but not ideal for a fun family Bluey costume. Choose a setting that complements your theme.
Start Early
Holiday mornings can be hectic. Take the pressure off by snapping your themed photos early in the month. That way, your photos are done and ready to share—no stress, no rush.
Don’t Forget to Share
I can’t tell you how many adorable photos I’ve taken and never posted. Don’t get hung up on chasing the perfect Pinterest-worthy shot—just share the joy with your friends and family!
